Sussex Service Terms

Welcome to Sussex Vehicle Hire Services. These Terms of Service (Terms) govern your use of our website carhiresussex.co.uk and our vehicle rental services. By using our services

1. Sussex Rental Agreement

All vehicle rentals with Sussex are governed by a detailed Rental Agreement provided with your booking confirmation or on vehicle collection. The agreement sets out terms, conditions, insurance details, charges, and your responsibilities for the specific rental. If there is any conflict between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will take precedence.

2. Sussex Eligibility

To rent a vehicle from Sussex, you must:

  • Be at least 21 years old (age restrictions may vary by vehicle type, with additional charges possible for drivers under 25). Hold a valid, full driving licence appropriate for the vehicle category, held for the minimum period specified in the Rental Agreement. Provide valid identification and proof of address and payment, presented to Sussex at vehicle collection and matching the name on the Rental Agreement.

3. Sussex Booking and Payment

  • Bookings can be made through our website, by phone, or in person at our Sussex location. A booking deposit may be required to secure your reservation. Full payment and the security deposit are usually due upon vehicle collection. All prices are shown in British pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. ...

4. Sussex Vehicle Collection and Return

  • On collection you must inspect the vehicle and report any pre-existing damage to Sussex immediately. A vehicle condition report will be completed and signed by both you and Sussex. Return the vehicle in the same condition as when collected, allowing for normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be assessed and charged to you.

5. Insurance and Liability (Sussex)

  • Sussex includes basic third-party insurance with all rentals. Full coverage details and applicable excess amounts are set out in your Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be available to limit your financial responsibility. We recommend that you review these options and the Agreement carefully. You are responsible for damage or loss up to the excess amount specified in the Rental Agreement.

6. Cancellation and Amendments

For Sussex bookings, cancellation and amendment policies vary by booking type and notice period. Please refer to your Sussex booking confirmation or rental agreement for specific details. Late cancellations or no-shows may result in charges.

7. Sussex Restrictions

You must not use the Sussex vehicle for:

  • Any illegal purpose or activity involving a Sussex vehicle. Racing, rallying, off‑roading, or other hazardous activities with a Sussex vehicle. Transporting hazardous or dangerous materials in a Sussex vehicle. Sub-letting to third parties or allowing unauthorized drivers to operate a Sussex vehicle. Driving a Sussex vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Purposes for which a Sussex vehicle is not designed...

Violating these restrictions at Sussex may result in immediate rental termination and additional charges.

8. Sussex Liability Limitations

To the maximum extent permitted by English and Welsh law, Sussex will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of profits, data or business, arising from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid for the relevant services in the 12 months before the claim.

9. Governing Law (Sussex)

These Terms are governed by English and Welsh law. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Sussex.

10. Changes to Sussex Terms

Sussex may modify these Terms at any time. Changes become effective immediately upon posting on the Sussex website. Your continued use of Sussex services constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
